Aromatherapy for Stress related conditions is very effective and helpful. It is not just a beauty treatment but is also a gentle way of helping to restore the body’s natural resilience to viruses, infections and fatigue. In addition, it is particularly helpful for stress-related conditions, so men can gain just as much benefit from it as women.

You will find many aromatherapy treatments for all sorts of ailments and stress related problems that can afflict both sexes.

First of all, let’s look at some of the most common symptoms of stress, both physical and emotional.

Physical Signs –

- Pain or tension in the back, neck and shoulders

- Headache or migraine

- Constipation

- General aches and pain

- Fatigue or excessive tiredness

- Insomnia

Emotional Signs –

- Anxiety

- Depression

- Irritability or lack of concentration

- Lack of confidence

- Aggressiveness

Aromatherapy for stress teaches you how to let go and relax, which is sometimes difficult when you feel depressed. When feeling the effects of stress, we tend to use props, which give us a quick lift or calm us down. These can be:

- Alcohol

- Tea or Coffee

- Cigarettes or cigars

- Chocolate

- Excessive eating

- Anti-depressants

- Sleeping pills

Some stress can be productive: it can give you drive and energy, and help you to achieve goals, but too much is detrimental. A healthy attitude to stress is to recognize it and try to reduce its effects on your health and well being. This is where you can turn to the gentle healing of aromatherapy. Aromatherapy for stress can be used to balance the nervous system. As emotional symptoms lead to the physical ones, it is always best to treat these emotional symptoms first. Often, then, the physical symptoms won’t develop.
