Xenoestrogens

Xenoestrogens - What are they ?

Xenoestrogens are endocrine disrupters. They are external chemicals that alter the normal function of hormones.

Our endorine system releases hormones which signals different tissues and organs telling what to do and when to do. Chemicals from the outside like Make up, plastic containers, chemically laden fruits, vegetables and food items enters in our body. They have the ability to mimic our natural hormones. They replace natural hormones by blocking or binding hormone receptors in our body.

Xenoestrogens are a sub category of the endocrine disrupter group. They specifically have estrogen like effect

Estrogen is a natural hormone produced in our body. It has an important role in #bone growth, blood clotting, reproduction in men and women.

Through biochemical pathways body regulates the amount of hormone needed for optimal functioning. Xenoestrogens increases the total amount of estrogen hormone causing estrogen dominance.

They causes conditions like

  • Breast cancer
  • Prostate cancer
  • Testicular cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Early onset puberty
  • Infertility
  • Endometriosis
  • Miscarriages

Xenoestrogens are not biodegradable. They are stored in our fat cells. So minimize your personal exposure to xenoestrogens.
